Work permits issued for foreign nationals reach over 70% of approved annual quota

 The number of work permits issued for foreign nationals from the beginning of the year until 30 September reached 84,826, representing 72.4% of the approved annual quota, the General Inspectorate for Immigration (IGI) announced on Friday.According to a press release from the IGI, the majority of the permits were issued for permanent workers, with 84,125 such documents registered. In addition, 262 individuals received permits as posted workers, 214 permits were for highly qualified workers, and 177 permits were granted for seasonal workers.Another 43 permits were issued for ICT workers - individuals transferred within the same company, while four permits were granted for au pair workers, and one permit for a trainee worker, the quoted source pointed out.The General Inspectorate for Immigration continues to support employers in Romania by digitising and streamlining the procedures for issuing permits, in accordance with current legal regulations, the press release reads.
